Jason Halpern is the founder and currently a managing partner of JMH Development, a real estate development company. Through his expertise and experience in development coupled with his foresight instincts, Jason has led JMH in the development and acquisition of innovative properties across the U.S. which includes several historically landmarked buildings.
JMH Development is a full-scale company in the real estate development business. Through the years, the company has gained experience in developing and owning significant commercial and residential properties in the United States. The company employs an advanced approach to creating unique attributes in the luxury industry. Most recently, JMH announced the topping off of the Aloft South Beach, a 235-room hotel in Miami Beach. Currently, JMH has about $500 million worth of investments in New York state projects.
Jason is unique for his passion and niche in buildings based in historic districts. Most recently, JMH completed a refurbishment of 184 Kent Avenue in Brooklyn resulting into 340 residential rentals. 184 Kent was named on the National Historic Register and won in the 2011 Building Brooklyn Award Adaptive Reuse Category. Jason and his company are sensitive to the historical aspect of the city they build in, respecting the community in which they develop functions as a guiding principal for Jason and JMH Development.
Jason is a humanitarian who has dedicated his time and resources towards charitable endeavors in the society. He has established a Level I Trauma Center in Westchester Medical Center to offer orthopedic surgery, emergency neurosurgery, open heart surgery and attachment of severed limbs. The center, Joel A. Halpern Trauma Center, cares for children, pregnant women and people with life threatening injuries among others.
Jason has a passion for philanthropy which he has brought to the workplace, through JMH Development he has enacted several charitable initiatives. In partnership with Charity: Water, a not-for-profit organization which helps provide clean water to impoverished areas, JMH has contributed towards the development of water projects in Ethiopia and Nepal. The project has provided more than 600 locals in both countries with clean and safe water.
Today, Jason remains committed to creating innovative buildings and applying his expertise towards real estate development to benefit the society.
